Anyone think the iPad should be able to have MMS messaging?

I think it would be a great feature, you know they could do it.

It could be done, but that would require a phone number. Then someone would want phone service on the iPad. Then you just have a huge iPhone. Most people who have an iPad can use the 3rd part SMS software (like GoogleVoice) or IM software to accomplish theses tasks, without Apple or the carriers having to figure it out.

Well the iPad does have a phone number, so that's taken care of.

There are a lot of texting apps in the app store that allow you to text between an iPad and any cellular phone with MMS.

Back in the days before iOS3, the fanboys on here argued that the iPhone didn't need MMS because it was obsolete and had been replaced by email. 😀

I still prefer email over MMS, so there.

Try text plus. It is free in the app store. They give you a phone number. It can access any of your contacts with mobile numbers or you can simply enter a mobile number. Works great.

I still prefer email over MMS, so there.

I love MMS. Sending pics in an email takes way longer.

And to the OP, I too would love mms on the iPad.
