I’m considering it as I don’t like Face ID and prefer the smaller size of the se... but curious if anyone else has made that move?

I had an 11 and am using an SE right now. Great little phone. Lighting quick, camera is great except in poor lighting, and Touch ID is great in the mask times we live in right now.

It’ll take a few days to get used to the screen size. The battery life is the only real drawback.

Why would it matter if others have made the move, when you are the one that is unhappy with your current set up? They won’t be paying the bill. If the local Apple store is open, make an appointment and look at and test the new SE in person. If not, consider waiting until the new phone announcement of the 5.4” phone.

Yeah I wasn’t looking for advice, just experiences to hear how people felt making this move- pros and cons I might not have thought of.

I’m currently using the new se and have an 11 pro (sold). I do like the size and Touch ID. The smaller screen takes some getting used to and the battery life. Oh man that battery life is also something to get used to. It is an awesome little phone and feels great in the hands. It’s easy to maneuver and is super light weight, but doesn’t feel cheap. Plus, Walmart is still running their special at $200 for a new se. If you’re on the fence about it, I’d try it out and if you don’t like it you can return it.

I made the move and totally regretted it. Battery life on the 11 is the best! That was my main concern.
I was good on that front since I didn't use it heavily and had the Mophie iP8 Battery Case just in case. Just couldn't take the small screen anymore

I went from a XS to an SE 2020. The XS stopped working (my fault) and 3 factors made me chose the SE:
  1. Touch ID in a pandemic (Face ID is useless while wearing a face mask)
  2. It's cheaper
  3. The size, I still long for the size of the old SE. I had got the XS because it was the smaller iphone available on October 2018. The 2020 is still smaller.

Did the same here. SE 2020 Battery life is easy fixed with a battery case.

For normal light use it’s hold a day easy for me. So battery case is in use when needed.

That’s not a fix.. that’s a bandaid. IMO iPhone SE is not meant for a power user, it’s meant for people who don’t use their phones for everything like a lot of people do. Light social media, some phone calls, little music and video, and that’s about it. My wife is plugging hers into the fast charger a couple of times a day. I can use my phone all day with no problem.

I moved from an 11 Pro to the 2020 SE and I'm absolutely loving it. The form factor is great and it feels much lighter in my hand and pocket. More than enough power for what I use it for. Camera is def not as good as the Pro but the trade off in size is worth it.

How is the battery life?
And camera-wise, is it mostly the lack of the other two lenses you had on the 11 pro, or even comparing to the standard lens in regular lighting conditions are you seeing it to be sub par?

I went from first gen iPhone 5se to XR. I hate the Face ID too. I still kept my XR cause the battery life is great. I just grumble and deal with the Face ID. In store, I just put in my passcode to get to ApplePay and unlocking my phone. I think I will try to add another face with mask.

I didn't trade, but I bought one in preference to an 11 recently, and glad I did.

As above, I prefer the size and touchID.

In terms of battery life concerns.... this will charge my SE 5+ times (wirelessly), my iPad or MBA twice...
