Has anyone traded in their old macbook either at an apple retail store or through apple's website (poweron)?

I'm considering trading in my 2011 Macbook Air and use that money to buy a thunderbolt dock but I know they don't carry those in the store but do sell them on their website. Obviously the store is lower risk since I don't have to worry about the laptop getting damaged or lost in the mail but I wasn't sure if they would give me a gift card I could use on apple's website and how close they would come to poweron's trade in offer in store.

if you're worried on possible lower in store trade-in .. Then print the offer from the online and take it in-store and try to price match.. Simple

Ok, I'm an idiot. I called my local apple store today and it turns out I misread the website. They only take idevices in store and they tell you to use poweron's website for computers. I'm not really wanting to mail in my old mac but I did find a friend who's interested in it so this should actually work out better for me.
