The reports that the charging cable is Qi compliant (a Moto watch was able to charge with it) brings up the question of if the Watch itself can be charged using one of these pads. Has anyone tried it? If you have a Qi pad, give it a try and let us know!
 
Thanks for giving it a shot. I guess it would be too good to be true if it worked with an existing standard :(. Since the charging cable works with other watches, maybe it's just a small electronics tweak that needs to happen.
 
This comment on this AppleInsider article confirms it's not.

"Confirmed not Qi complaint. Found the FCC ID, BCGA1598. Says fundamental frequency is 326.5 kHz. Standard Qi devices are 100-205 kHz, high power is 80-300 kHz."
