Yep, installed fine for me by bypassing the first installer. Extract the zip file, then open an elevated command prompt (run as administrator).

    Then cd C:\Users\(Username)\Downloads\BootCamp5.1.5621\BootCamp\Drivers\Apple

Installed fine, gave me the BootCamp control panel, and my function keys work to change the brightness on my cinema display in Windows 8.1 64 bit.

I upgraded. Had to uninstall bootcamp services using the Microsoft fix it uninstaller, I presume the AHCI mod broke the remove option it had only repair listed.

Install went fine on 7x64 using the msi on my 3,1 but I still have the usual broken startup disk error trying to open the panel, but my volume hot keys still work using the fn as I set before with bootcamp 4. I was hopeful that 5.1 would finally give me access to the control panel with the AHCI mod like my MBP 2010 but no such bloody luck :(

I think I may give this driver set to the mate who has the nMP drivers to analyse the msi and XML files to see if I can get the autounattend USB stick working on the 2008 next time I do a clean install later this year.

Do we know which drivers it updates? I'd really prefer not to break my AHCI mod. Most of my drivers were installed with Windows Update, and then I just installed the Boot Camp control panel.

It went through the usual list of apple products but the AHCI mod will always be unaffected. It will look for the intel SATA controller in PATA mode and as there's only an AHCI present it will skip the driver. I didn't have a second reboot either after the restart which would indicate new disk drivers but I had already manually installed the latest x64 rst AHCI and driver only set that the esb2 controller can support on the 3,1 - 10.1.1008.

Best to have that 10.1 driver as it doesn't have the 3tb bug that the 9.x driver suffers from.

I struggled to install this update. What did it for me was going to Displays in Device Manager and uninstalling LogMeIn. I have no idea how LogMeIn was installed in the first place.
After a restart I was able to inastigate th update.
