I ended up selling my 2010 17" as I found expresscard for either esata or usb 3 to be fairly useless. I now have a 2011 MBP with thunderbolt [which will at some point poo poo all over anything expresscard could theoretically offer], until some hdd cases come out to make use of TB I'll be using FW800.

^lol

it would of been nice to get a working usb3 expresscard for the interim period!

i TB really faster than pci-express?

i thought TB was a dual channel.. pci-express +display support

maybe some1 could enlighten

"With 10 Gbps of throughput in both directions, Thunderbolt I/O technology lets you move data to and from peripherals up to 20 times faster than with USB 2.0 and more than 12 times faster than with FireWire 800. Two 10-Gbps channels on the same connector mean you can daisy-chain multiple high-speed devices and a display, without using a hub — and without reducing performance." http://www.apple.com/au/thunderbolt/

ExpressCard on MacBook Pro - 2.5 Gbps
Thunderbolt on MacBook Pro - 10 Gbps

I bought the lindy card for my 2011 17". I tried using it with the lacie drivers and I am getting kernel panics left right and centre. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi, did you get your 2011 Macbook pro to work with Linday card?

Hi, is there someone that has tried this Lacie Rikiki USB 3.0 with a macbook 13"? I have a MacBook 13 unibody late 2008 (no pro) and i would buy the new rikiki 1TB version, USB 3.0..
