How well do these work with a case on?

Thinking of ordering a set of these as the glass protectors might interfere with a case.

I have an apple leather case and Spigen Neo Hybrid. Anyone tested these with these two cases? Just wondering should i get the case optimized version or the normal?

A more pliable case such as something made of TPU or silicone should work ok, slider style and snap on shells likely would cause issues with fit and might pull the skin up. I've used full skins with cases before, and mostly all they do is make the case fit more snug

The Apple case is pretty tight as is, so I think it will not fit atleast with the normal version, but the case friendly version should work pretty fine...

Nice install!

Do you think putting a case on is a bad idea?

I want full coverage with a case also, but from what I've been reading, I'm afraid of putting a case with a back protector as it may peel.

I just ordered a case optimized back a while earlier to prepare.

The full body skin like mine gives you a snug fit with the Apple leather case, but it fits! I've had the skin on for 48 hours so I just tried the case. You have to slip the phone into the case top first holding the case edges apart, then the bottom because it's open you can hold the case corner out. The last bottom corner must be shoe horned in (use the corner of the plastic cover the phone came in sticky side out). If you take your time and install it carefully you won't peel the skin at all. The front is perfect because the Apple case does not overlap the glass, it sits right on the edge.

The full screen protector is a perfect fit for the Apple leather case! Don't get the case optimized screen protector, you'll have a big gap that will just gather dust.

I have never used these kind of protectors with curved sides and glass.

I have used these wet install screen protectors but with iPhone 4/4s/5/5s where the pieces were separate.

Looking at the pictures from bse website, the back protector seems as it would be a pita to install. How easily do the sides stick to the phone? Do you have to keep pressing the sides after the install, or should the phone just be left "alone" after the install so the adhesive and the liquid stick to the phone?

How you described it is exactly how it is, a pita lol. It took me two and a half hours to get my sides to stick.

The bottom right hand corner has already started to peel. I have managed to remove the little bit that peeled up so see how it will go from here. I have also ordered a replacement back skin and a case optimised one. I think on the second attempt I will be able to install it a lot better.

I received my BSE screen protector at matte back protector today. I am kind of disappointed but it's all my fault really. I currently have a Power Support anti glare protector on it but is does not cover the full screen so I wanted something else. My problem is that I mistakenly ordered the case optimized one and it doesn't fit much more screen than the Power Support one does. I have emailed them to see if I can simply send them back the front cover that I received (and never used) and them send me the regular front cover. I'd rather not send it, wait for a refund, and then reorder if possible. Waiting on a response.

Had to share my experience with BSE. I emailed them as I said above and received a response the next day. They told me that they are more than happy to exchange it (new or used- I never installed mine though), and that they would be sending me instructions for my exchange. Soon after I received instructions on returning my order, but it said nothing about an exchange.

Then the next day I received another email from them. My order had shipped! I never even placed another order with them, they had gone ahead and shipped my replacement screen protector even though they hadn't received mine back. In fact, I am still trying to get a hold of an envelope that is big enough to mail it in (don't want to go to the post office, I'll probably just get a large manila envelope from the store later today).

I know this doesn't seem like much to some people, but to me this shows wonderful customer service. I am so happy with the service they have given me and I would highly recommend them to anyone. It just shows that customer satisfaction is very important to them. So excited to receive my screen protector from them.

I agree with everything you have said. Their customer service are excellent.

I preordered both front silk and back but changed my mind and decided I wanted a matte back. I wasn't aware that it was an extra charge for matte, but they email me and said that they changed the order free of charge.

Like you said it's only a small gesture, but it shows that they are going that little extra out of their way to look after their customers. I will certainly buy from them again in the future.

I couldn't decide and ordered the full size in gloss for both sides. I kinda wish i'd gotten matte, not sure. I used to always use matte because of Power Support's quality matte screen material. Anyway, I think I'll cut off the side pieces of the back skin and install a flat back. I too think the sides will peel plus I'll probably use a slim case and this might help the fit..

I once got matte for an iPad and hated it. In a big way. Glossy for me. Feels right.

I ordered 9/26 and they shipped 9/29 to midwest area from CO (I assume) It feels like forever! I'm really hoping it'll come today.

I regret opting for the free shipping option now. Still have the Apple silicone case on

Not alot, but I think that depends on the user as well, here is mine, its been on since december 2013, click to get bigger picture:

Its not perfect, but I dont think any plastic protector is gonna stay 100% since dirt is dirt.

Ive seen some really horrendous plastic films from phones owned by women because of their make-up. So Im really not sure if the film is to blame here :D

That is exactly what I mean, if u look at your home button color and the other part of the phone, the two colors are not the same. It's not noticeable if you don't look for it but I see it, and when I do take it off the screen looks better to me. So I guess I won't be using it

You can only really notice it on white phones

To the people who have had good experiences with BSE via email:

Are they more responsive via email then by using their online RMA process for returns, etc.? I asked because I received two screen protectors for the 6+ and both of them arrived with some sort of blemish on the glossy side, which means they can't be used. I submitted an RMA request to see about getting new ones using the online functionality. On their website, but I never received any confirmation, nor have I received any acknowledgment or response, and that was several days ago now. So I'm really not even sure if they got it.

I know that the website says they may be slow to respond to support requests, but I didn't know if I would have better luck simply emailing someone and, if so, who?

Thanks,
M

Edit – and they just got back to me and shipped out some new screen protectors. So I appreciate their response.

It's like what? $1.50 for the screen protector? Peel it off if it starts looking bad LOL

Can someone please explain why someone would put a case over a skin? Why not just use a case with screen protector?

further update. i got the case back on. the mistake i made was trying to put the plastic part over the tpu from the front towards the back rather than the reverse. the front part seems to stick out a little further than the back part and makes it harder if not impossible to do it that way. this whole 8.0.1 dead phone thing has me flustered. case fits. very very snug but it fits. looks good. still not happy with how the bse went on this time but at least the phone is well protected for the moment.

I just got mine today. I have done this installation previously, so I have a little experience with the BSE skins. I set aside a couple of hours and with lots of patience I think I did a pretty good job. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

First, the fit is perfect! I got the glossy for the front and matte for the back. Since I already bought the Apple black leather case and I'm very happy with it, I was going to only install then front BSE only. I then decided to install the back just for the heck of it and see what it's like. I am very surprised with the finished look and feel so far (it hasn't cured) and I may just stick with this. I'll see if the apple case still fits when it's dry. The front glossy skin feels pretty nice to me and it's not too sticky like Zagg. The back is thicker and does feel more substantial than the iphone 5 version. Their iPhone back skin didn't last too long because of all the little individual pieces you had to stick on and it was thinner.

I like the one piece cutout for the back because it may last longer? The trick to applying this is to not over soak the skin so that it will be tacky rather than wet.
I used a very fine mist spray bottle for my solution and pushed the water out towards the sides rather than the top and bottom.

Now we just wait and see how durable it is. :)

I have a Ringke Fusion case on (hard back, TPU sides) and it fits just fine. The sides do not peel. Several people keep asking whether or not you can use a case with the full body protector. The answer is--it depends on what case you're using. I've used a full body protector+case with my phones since the iPhone 4. You'll probably have better luck with a TPU/silicone type case. For anything else like a rigid/hard or snap on case, I assume you'll have some issues getting it on.

Stickerb0y has protectors with and without the sides attached. Their clear ones aren't available at the moment, but if BSE doesn't come through, that might be another option for you.

So are all of you using BSE to protect your phones also using cases? I'm going naked on my phone with just BSE skin protection and AppleCare+

Not sure about those that are using full cases. But for me I use bumpers that leave the back exposed. I don't like clear back cases because the acrylic gets scratched up. With BSE skins my exposed back always looks good.

That I understand and your use scenario makes sense to me, but I just don't get using a skin plus a case unless you are constantly taking the phone out of the case, but then the skin seems vulnerable to peeling and damage.

Most of my phones have some pretty decent scratches as a result of the case rubbing up against them. Dirt gets into the case and the friction between the case and the phone with the dirt in there causes some pretty ugly marks over time. A good example is the bumpers people used on the iPhone 4. After a year or so the metal around the outside of the phone looked like hell after being in the bumper because of dirt particles.

This is exactly why I didn't use a case on my 4S. Me and a friend compared our 4S's. He kept his in a case and mine never had a case, just front and back films. Mine looked brand new after 3 years and his looked like cr*p.

Any suggestions and compatible cases that I could use while I have BSE applied on my phone? Was going to use a naked phone but now wanting to use either a bumper or case while still keeping my BSE applied.

Absolutely, but mind you, this film is almost 12 months now, it wont become like that immediately. I would just replace it since I havent seen a single film that doesnt become yellow-ish over time.

Can I dry-install Body Protection Case Optimized from BSE on iPhone 6 without water-soap liquid?

P:S Looking for back film protection for iP6 with dry-install possibility!

My Spigen Neo Hybrid works with the skin. I've heard (probably on this thread) that the Apple leather case, though tight, works with it as well.

I sent an email to BSE letting them know I had trouble with the skin this time (I've applied their products over a dozen times with very little issue), specifically with the edges adhering. I had thought maybe the matte protector was different as I've never used it before. They apologized and said that the reason was likely the rounded edges of the 6, and then they gave me some tips on getting the edges to stick better (basically let it dry out much more than the rest of the skin before pressing down). They also said they would send out a complimentary replacement skin. As always, really great customer service from these guys. That's why I always go with them. Not to mention the superior product and great price.

And to the other post - these are only wet-install, though they mention something interesting on their instructions. The water is not the thing that makes the skin adhere to the phone. The water is only used to make it easier to adjust the placement of the material once it's on the phone and to be able to pull it off and reapply until it's just right. So I would think theoretically you might be able to apply it dry, but the moment it comes into contact with the phone it's not going anywhere. And I think without the water on it, you will ruin the skin if you pull it off and attempt to reapply it. And the cut is so precise that it's probably impossible to apply it perfectly while dry.

Mine finally arrived today (ordered on the 17th Sep), it was a pain getting the back protector on. It would of been a lot easier if the side, top and bottom parts were separate from the main back piece. It took me 3 tries before I aligned it correctly then I spent around 10 mins trying to get the sides and corners to stick but eventually got it done.

The front took 3 attempts, the white border on the Iphone made it difficult to see the outline of the protector so I would end up having it aligned unevenly.

I found that spraying it with a lot of water didn't help, it would quickly stick to the phone, but at least it made removing it easier so I could realign it.

I regret changing my order to a case optimized version, it would of looked nicer having whole front covered, but I'll probably buy a glass screen protector later on so it'll do for now.

Just an FYI in case there is anyone with the same combo I am using; The BSE screen protector is a bit too large to be used with a Caudabe Veil case. I was hoping it would fit perfectly since the Veil just barely wraps around the sides, but it doesn't. The sides and top of the BSE screen protector are peeling off due to contact with the case edges. I'll be removing the BSE once I get a glass protector.

Nah I wouldn't use a case over the skin. I only tried it for those that had posted interest in doing so:)

BTW, one week since installing full body skin and after 2 days of babying it I'm using it normally. No peeling at all and still looks perfect.

Not the easiest back to install, but I think that the one piece design will pay off in the long run. Fewer seams = durability, fewer snags, less lint buildup.

Now, to overcome the fear of bending!!:D:D
