IMHO the thin cases aren't worth it. They only offer scratch protection, for that its bettter to go with front/back screen protectors and antenna decals. Also gelaskin or BSE can provide similar protection.

Another problem with the thin plastic cases is that they scratch easily unlike protectors and skins.

Another good option for thin protection is a TPU case like the vulcan or the Gelly.

I was interested in this case to, I love the case because it is so thin but not sure if its worth it if it cracks so soon. I have the incase snap and I love it. It is really thin and protects the phone pretty well and it even has a lay on the table feature.

The main reason to choose a case like this over skins is that it covers the antenna and prevents any signal drop.

I went back to my incase snap after cracking my pinlo. It's still probably my favorite all around hard shell case. Another one I was looking into is the caze zero 5 matte. Essentially the same cut (& colorways) as the pinlo/incase but 0.5mm. Slightly thicker than the pinlo which may make it a bit more durable. Only downside is no lay on the table design. Something I've learn to appreciate after going bare on the front glass.

Skins like the 4 fix from Zagg are sold specifically to to prevent signal drop.
By the way I have never experienced any antenna problem even when using the phone naked.

The Zagg fix did not work for me. At best it only made signal drop slower but that is debatable. I also don't like the feeling of the edges of a skin on the antenna band. Signal loss depends on signal strength. If I'm in a weak area I can kill the signal very quickly. If it's a strong area it may not drop any bars at all. However, bars aren't an accurate representation of signal anyway.

I brought one and first time installing it on the iPhone, the bottom part has a little crack. I wish they made it with a softer materiel. Nice case though.

Anyway I find fuller coverage tpu cases and even bumpers better for protection than thin plastic ones.

Agreed, but these kind of cases are for minimalists. Definitely aimed at people like myself who would use their phone naked if possible.

I don't think most companies do?

They actually do. If you purchase an Incipio or Incase from Walmart, or Ebay, or where ever, the product is still actually covered. Hence, a warranty.
I think they basically know how fragile the case is want to limit the damage on their end.

Good to know because I bought my cousin an Incipio case off ebay and the sleep button is off center. Didn't think they'd cover it. I know SGP and Case-mate doesn't cover items not bought from them.

I've never trusted these thin cases after using SGP's thin one for my 3G. It lasted for 2-3 months before it started cracking on the corners. A replacement case did the same thing. They just weren't meant to stand up to everyday bumps.

Explain everyday bumps?

A little late to this thread, but does anyone know if this case is compatible with the Verizon phone?

I like the extra button set that comes with it, obviously they are not to sure if their product will stay together ...

so many clone accounts created in Nov 2010 just to 'promote' this case

The case is nice because it does not have mold lines on the bottom. The first companies to come out with this type of case are from Japan. The problem is these cases are a dime a dozen in China. The Chinese figured out how to make them a long time ago. the cost is 3RMB which is $0.20 at best. Anyone that knows this is not going to spend $25 for a case no matter how much people promote it. If they made their own mold I hope they get their investment back because this mold is not cheap.
