Just bought a new AW3 today and it will not pair with any iPhones. Have tried 7 plus, 6s, and SE.

Thanks Dave, all devices are on iOS 11. all devices were on different versions of iOS 11.

I had problems.
Hard reset the phone.
Made sure the older watches were un-paired
Reset the watch and then power cycled
Placed the watch on a charger.
Placed watch on a contrasting surface
Watched the watch screen for glare during the pairing.

Why is it not pairing, what message are you seeing?
Unable to pair, start over

I did all of those things, except unpair older watches...I wondered about that!

*edit* attempted a pair last night with 2 phones that had no watches paired to it, ever.

Not sure who your cell phone provider is, however I had issues with my watch and Verizon. Verizon had to make some kind of adjustments on their end (about 30 minutes on the phone) and was able to successfully add mine.

I have a 7+ with 11.0.3 IOS and the watch with 4.0.1.

Have you tried cleaning the lens of the camera and watch?

Have you tried two shots of vodka prior to pairing.

My series 2 Nike Watch paired up with out any issues on three phones.

The LTE was edition had issues.
Have you tried:
Cleaning
Vodka shots
And doing it in a darkened room?

Again, I tried with 3 different phones. It finds the logo just fine, it just won’t pair with watch once it gets passed that point.

My series 0 re-pair to my phone with no problems. My local store just got stock, so I ordered another and will return this one. I have a Genius Bar appt, but I don’t have time to deal with all that.

I will attempt to setup the new one in the Apple store tho.

bought another online and picked up yesterday. stayed in the store to setup, new one didn't work either. Genius pulled another from the back. Took less than 5 mins and was on my way. Absolutely no issues setting up with T-mobile.

Very strange. Never had an apple product just not work.

Same thing happened to me on Friday; unpaired my Series 2 ceramic and tried paring the Series 3 SSSB with no luck. I sat at the table in the Apple store for at least an hour with 2 or three Apple employees trying to help. At one point, I told them just take the Series 3 back and I'd like a refund instead as it obviously was never going to pair. I didn't know (IStockNow only showed 1 in store) that they had another SSSB in stock; swapped that out and the 2nd watch paired instantly. Like you I was shocked as well, who knew the watch was faulty!

Brian, luckily they had another in stock here also. When it didn't work the first time, I told them to pull the one I just returned to show it was the same error. I wasn't going to spend 2 hrs troubleshooting.

Curious, which version of iOS 11 are you running?

Same thing happened to me on Friday as well! Went through EVERYTHING to get the Series 3 SSSB to pair but nothing worked. Did the same thing as you ejfontenot and bought another one and paired in store before I left. All the Apple employees couldn't believe that it wouldn't pair!

BTW, I am running public beta 11.1

I'm running iOS 11.0.3.

My wife had a similar experience yesterday. Brought home a new AW3 / LTE, tried to pair and it would get to picking restore from backup or setup as new, choose your wrist preference and then would immediately pop up "unable to pair watch with this iphone."

She called Apple and was escalated to a senior watch support person, who had her try lots of things all to no avail. What we found out randomly for her was that she had a Series 0 Watch that was unpaired but still in her iCloud account. Removing that from her account and then trying to pair the new watch again worked.

You can see iCloud devices in iOS 11 under Settings in that top section with your name that shows Apple ID, scroll down and see all your devices. Removing out the old, unpaired watch seemed to do the trick.

What seems weird is that when you unpair a watch, it does turn off "Find My Watch" but still leaves it in your iCloud account. You'd think it would remove it from your account too. She's running iOS 11.03 and it was a Series 3 LTE watch with 4.01.

Interesting, I wonder if that was the issue with my wife's phone also. I tried with her work phone that never had a watch paired to it, but she did have a watch associated with her iCloud.

FWIW, I paired my AW3 with my iPhone running 11.1 B2 with a Series 0 still paired with the phone.

Ok so I’m supposed to be getting my AW3 LTE watch soon and just to confirm. Do I have to unpair my Series 0 watch before I pair the new one?

I can't say 100% yes, I had issues pairing with it attached and successfully paired it with it attached.
