Of course people who just bought the iPad 3 months ago won't be wasting their money when their current device works just fine. But that was a pretty shady move on apples part to release the fourth generation iPad in such a short period of time.

I'd be more disappointed if Apple waited an entire year to release that... It's lackluster at best. Nothing wrong with the ever-so-wonderful iPad 3.

I'll be giving my iPad 3 away and pre ordering the new iPad 4. I have the 64gb lte version so I've loaded it up with content and its starting to get laggy. I welcome better upgrades, the sooner the better.

Nope. I'll wait. I added AppleCare to this one. I also have a glass.t screen protector on it. I've never felt it was "Slow".

Now next year I'd like a thinner /lighter device with stereo speakers and iOS 7. Perhaps haptic feedback and a wacom type digitizer? They can't just simply keep doubling performance every year.

I cannot justify upgrading a product that meets my needs.

I will wait until the iPad 5 and iPhone 6:D

What is the weight of the 4 vs the 3?

The only thing I dislike about the 3 is the weight (since I use it a lot for reading via the Kindle app).

I am kicking around the idea of picking one up, giving my wife the ipad 3 and selling her 2. I don't know, maybe after Christmas

Imagine the iPad mini form factor scaled up to full size with faster internals and a retina display. That's what the "iPad 5" is likely to be. I'll hold off until then. My iPad 3 is awesome.

No. I can justify buying an iPhone 4S next year for $200 but I'm not willing to spend $500 on a S model iPad. Basically, this is an iPad 3S. Just like we'll get iPhone 5S next year.

That was a surprise. Nope, not upgrading, I even bought AppleCare+ on my iPad 3. I'll just keep it until it doesn't run stuff anymore.

Kinda ticked though - wasn't expecting an EOL for iPad 3 for a LONG time.

It is not the EOL for the Ipad 3, it will still get updates just like the apple tv 2 does even though it is not sold anymore

I only upgrade if the current is too slow and doesn't work to my needs. My iPhone 3G which is 5 years old too slow now so at Xmas upgrade to iPhone 5. Same with ipad. My ipad 1 was about 3-4 years old and was getting slow plus the scree was terrible so I upgraded to ipad 3. See the pattern? All my apple products last 3 years or more if I upgrade now again it would be a waste of monies

U are lying. iPad 1 was released March 2010. It cannot be 3 years old.

Same with iPhone 3G. It was released July 2008. It's only 4 years old.
