I’m on the fence about this…
My 12 PM is giving me some headaches in terms of battery life. It’s still 86% battery health and Apple says there’s no point in getting a new battery for it.
Also, I’ve been playing with the idea of switching to a normal sized Pro. The new camera setup also seems a nice upgrade, but not sure if worth it for itself, especially considering how much more expensive the phones are now (in Europe, at least).
Is anyone going from the 12 Pro Max to a normal Pro? What’s making you change?

I am thinking of getting a 14 pro from my 12 pro max . I can’t decide to be honest . I ordered both and need to make the decision soon .

Hard to decide, isn’t it?
Please let me know how it goes.
I might order the Pro and pretend I can’t have the Max. I really could use a smaller phone. The flat edges make the phone bulkier in the pocket, I find. On the other hand, I’m afraid I’ll miss the larger display and the better battery life (well… my 12 PM battery isn’t something to miss lol)

Yeah, I placed an order because I was paying £100 + £30 for Apple One, I managed to get a deal from EE in the UK which includes Apple One subscription in the £100 monthly payment. That is all with no upfront payment.

I could have downgraded my plan to SIM only and kept using my 12 Pro Max but I figured my girlfriend will be happy with an upgrade from her X to my 12 PM. And considering I won’t be paying more than I am now, I decided to go for it.

But I guess under different circumstances I’d probably wait for the next one.

I ordered a 14 PM after having a 12 PM. Didn’t consider going back down. I had the 6 Plus and 7 Plus and then the X which I had for 3 years and I was really glad to go to the PM last year after 3 years with the X.

I’ve gone the other way. I’m going 12 Pro to 14 PM. Really wanting that bigger screen and battery life.

I was in that mindset when I got the 7 Plus and, part from the X, I’ve been using He bigger phones since then… But now something changed and I have this will to downsize.

I’m as you going from the 12 Pro Max to the normal 14 Pro. I actual liked the size of the Pro Max, but I have also realized how much I’m in a rush and *trying to use it with one hand. I also have en iPad and MacBook with iCloud sync so I don’t really watch a lot of media on phone. Maybe the best argument to get the larger size.

So one hand use is my reason. I would say that I prefer specs over one hand use, so if we would have got a slightly better camera on the Max (as with 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max), I would have opted for the Max instead.

About battery my one says 86% as well. I would agree that my battery has become worse in the last 3 months or so. It feels like it dropped from 90% to 80% instead of like 89% to 86%. I barely get a single day of charge now with normal use. I’m used to have like 40% back when it was new. My consumption haven’t changed.

Therefore I also think the new normal Pro will have the same battery life as when iPhone 12 Pro Max was new, and that’s definitely fine with me.

Mine has become crazy in battery drain. Even stopped background activity for most apps (fb, instagram and messenger were the biggest culprits).
And yeah, if the 14 Pro has the same level of battery life as the 12 Pro Max had in the early days, I’ll be happy with it.

That’s what made me go for the 12PM as well… not this time
