I currently have the Simple Choice NA plan, paying about $70 a month for a single line. I'm thinking about upgrading the plan to Magenta Max to take advantage of the extra $300 ($200 vs $500) credit. If I upgrade, I'll be paying about $15 more per month. What I get in return is an additional $12.50 credit per month for the next 24 months. I currently have Netflix, so I can also take advantage of the $8.99 credit per month. I've been getting tons of scam calls daily, so maybe the included Scam Call Blocking might be useful as well.

I know the credit is only for 24 months. Even after the 24 months, I'm basically paying an extra $6 per month (after the Netflix credit) by upgrading from Simple Choice NA to Magenta Max. Perhaps I can downgrade my plan to regular Magenta after the 24 months.

Just thinking out loud here. Any reasons why I shouldn't do the upgrade?

Yes, you can downgrade after 24 months. And it all depends on you. The Max plan has more benefits compared to SC. I'm still on Simple Choice, I haven't had a reason to change.

I have a ONE plan and I’m not upgrading. I’m keeping the ONE and getting $200 credit rather than $500.

I’m considering it. I have two lines and am going to upgrade both phones so the credit difference is $600. That’s pretty compelling!

Edit: Yeah it’s a terrible deal in the end. No way.

Nope. For what you’ll be paying in monthly bills will far exceed the credit you receive over time.

I had One 55 Unlimited or whatever and made the choice to go to MM When all the dust clears, actual versus what I'd pay trading from 11 Pro to 13 Pro Max, the difference wasn't all that significant. It was worth it.

No bloody way. For me it'll cost me an extra $45 a month on that plan. Plus to add insult they credit me the promo over 30 months. Another ingenious reverse contract to keep you locked in for life. Lol. Sold my own iPhone 12pm and bought the 13pm. Failing that apple themselves are offering straight up $790 trade in with none of that b$ monthly credits.

Nope... I passed on it despite having both a OnePlus 7T and a Note 20 Ultra that I could have traded.

I passed because because my plan is a 7 year old grandfathered plan thats unlimited everything for $100 for 2 lines. On magenta max it would be $140. So a 40% increase in my plan price permanently, then over the long run I would lose money.

Only thing Magenta Max has that I don't have is Netflix and 4G hot spot (i have 3G hotspot).

They still gave me $200 for my OnePlus 7T despite not changing my plan, which is about exactly what I could have sold it for.

Since you will be paying $6 extra overall, then T-Mobile will get their $500 back and more eventually. If you ever think you might add someone else to your plan in the future, then thats also another reason. If adding a 2nd line is only $120 ($60 per line) then thats more reason to stay grand fathered into the plan you have now.

I was on the Amplified Plan for $70 for one line and happen to catch the fact that Magenta Max 55+ was $5 cheaper for exact same features so YES I switched.

NO WAY IN HELL! I'm on SWAC Premium on Sprint's old accounting system. I have to go TNX (T-mobile Network Experience, no choice) but since I purchased my PM13 256 on my dime I get to keep my plan $50.00 a month includes (Amazon Prime, Unlimited data with HD streaming, TIDAL Premium, Lookout Premium, Hulu Standard, 100GB Hotspot, Unlimited SMS,MMS, Unlimited Talk of coarse) 5G once I TNX with the new device is free as well.

Anyone who did this deal ($500 trade-in refund from apple and %400 from tmobile) get their TMO $500 yet?
