How would you feel about a pop socket case? It might make it more comfortable and stable when holding the Mini.
I don’t have the folio but that seems like a good reason to try one, or at least a knockoff. If you have the smart folio, try spiral folding the cover into a narrow column on the back. I’m finding that very comfortable for one-handed use, and it can be rolled in either direction giving you the choice of which surface is exposed.
i am using a cheap clear case and a strap...total price only $5. Yup it's very helpfull, i can hold my ipad longer when reading in bed, and extra safety specially when i use it out side or when my niece play games.Just wondering if anyone had ideas for case, strap, etc. to use with mini while using it for a reader in bed.

I do use it, and it works a treat.I don't use it, but this exists...

I have the smart folio and it didn’t help meI didn’t get the Smart Folio, but got a knockoff for $6 on Amazon to see if this would work for me, and it definitely helps!
A silicone case might help with this.I have the smart folio and it didn’t help me
at all. I def need a strap that hold the iPad tightly down across my hand .
The iPad with the folio case is just too slippery to hold while reading.
How well does that work when you attach your keyboard case or slide the iPad in to the device pocket of your backpack? My iPad barely slides into the device pocket without anything glued to the back.View attachment 2625923
A case with a grip adds too much weight for my taste (plus I rarely take my Mini out of my home so it's relatively safe from damage), so I just use two Popsockets adhered on. I use two for a few reasons:
- I like having the option of holding it lower or higher in portrait
- it enables me to use the iPad in any orientation one-handed
- I can put three fingers in between the sockets for more stability
- when I mount the iPad to Popsocket mounts, with two attach points it won't spin around
I find having a grip indispensable with the Mini. The grip enables me to use it one-handed with almost no effort, and so the Mini is my most-used device at home.
