My left AirPod is crackling, I think the speaker is partially blown out or distorted. I have AppleCare+ and thinking about doing an Express Replacement but not sure if I am supposed to send in only the left AirPod or the whole set. Not sure how I would feel about having mismatching AirPods with the left having 100% battery and the right at 95%. Considering a $1500 iPhone 12 Pro can be replaced, would they replace the whole set considering the AirPods is $250?

They will send you the one AirPod.

They only send what you are requesting to be replaced. I had both with the same issue. I did express replacement and they sent me 2 new airpod pro’s, in 2 separate shipments/packages, and I had to package each one up separately and ship them back individually.

Are you sure you're not having similar issues with both?????????????

But yeah, if you're only having issues with one, they'll replace one. That said, I've never had a set of wireless buds drain the same anyway - one usually always dies before the other!

Highly recommend getting Applecare if you choose to purchase Airpods Pro. My original pair quit working after 2-3 months. Had them replaced and only the L one worked. The second replacement for the R one doesn't work at all. Looks like it may be the charger. The sound was nice when they actually worked.

IMO, they are a poorly designed, overpriced piece of rubbish. YMMV.

100% agreed that the quality is rubbish, I made the mistake of purchasing one without applecare+. The other ones that I got with the education deal have applecare+, but luckily both were purchased with my Amex that covers an additional year of limited warranty (2yr total).

In general, apple products have gotten low and I have a feeling it is intentional since it generates so much more revenue to replace products. Even though apple "cares" about the environment.
