Before taking in my MBP for LB & LCD replacement my fan never was on during Google Hangout video chat and the temp never got as high as I'm getting now (86 degree's c). I don't rem the temp back then but it was never this high. The only time my fans turn on is when I play games besides that it never went on.

I took it in for repairs earlier today because the microphone didn't work and found out it wasn't plugged in tightly but it's working now.

So after a short period of time while using Hangouts for video chat, my temps are in the mid 80s C and I can hear the fan.

I was wondering if other people using Hangouts for video chat have their fans on and temp around mid 80's C.

I'm guessing that your dGPU is kicking in. You could use gfxCardStatus to force your iGPU to run (and find out which GPU is running) which should help with your temps.
