Um no? Did that graphic ever say iPhone 4? You are quoting the $600 coverage.

If that umm, bothers you, I ummm, apologize.

Signed with Worthavegroup today. Checked them out on BBB.org. No complaints from either state, local, or federal gov. Also, did not see any individual complaints. Did a year's service for $85.10 with $600.00 coverage limit. They seem to offer the best bang for the buck.

Actually, Worthavegroup is not the best bang for your buck. Not even close. Have people not heard of GoCare from Gotronics?

Their price is a flat $85 for 2 years and covers any iPhone 4 up to the full value. Worthavegroup is about $160 for 2 years.

Gocare offers theft, accidental damage, and breakdown (something worthavegroup does not offer). They offer loaner phones, cover unlocked phones, free data recovery, same-day repairs, a free case with purchase and more. Things that worthavegroup does not offer.

Check them out at http://www.gotronics.com/gocare.

A real crummy attempt at a scam. Btw, when you sign up you're redirected to PayPal in order to pay

oh and I tried to look them up in Florida where they claim to be and i can't find them in Florida's business registry...

Actually I did find them on the Florida Department of State Division of Corporations. They are a dba (doing business as) of THE BERNSTEIN FIRM LLC. They are found in the fictitious name search (a totally legitimate business practice).

So yes, i'm a new user too. I've been looking for insurance on my iphone 4, my 32 gig just got stolen last night and I had to pay 400 for a new 16 gig; so yup now im getting insurance. Props to the apple store though: phone stolen around 8 pm, got to the apple store at 9:30, and had a new phone all set to go by 9:50 (am down a lot of $$$ though now ugh).

So I was deciding between squaretrade and worth ave group (kinda leaning towards worth ave bc I read on another forum that you dont have to send them you're broken phone and you can be up an running with a new one quicker through the apple store, worthave group just sends you a check later), then i came across this insureappleiphone.com in the comments of another article. Here's the link: http://www.brighthub.com/mobile/iphone/articles/84213.aspx

Read the comments at the bottom of the page, there are like 4 about insureappleiphone.com. Now here's the cool part: if you read those comments you'll notice similar words that the other guy whos raving about insureappleiphone.com uses in his own post. For example, "my two cents" and "no hiccups". Yes I know these are common phrases, but really? really, c'mon. It's totally a scam. That and whenever someone resorts to name calling, in my experience, it's a scam. If people were saying you're insurance company that you just signed up with is a scam, you would normally say "OO sh**, I better get my info back or try to make sure my bank account isnt in trouble." You wouldn't defend a company that isn't yours. Good luck with the insurance ppl, and stay away from insureappleiphone for all the reasons people on this board have stated.

I used insureappleiphone.com - postive results! !

Hello, I recently used insureappleiphone insurance for my iphone4. I accidentally dropped it and it broke the front glass, the phone stopped working as well. Before I sent it, I ran across this thread and almost had Apple replace it for $200.00 (as I feared this might be a scam), but then I called their customer service, spoke to a representative that put my mind at ease, so I went ahead and submitted it for repair. A few days after I mailed it, I got an email confirming they received it, then a few days later another saying it was fixed and on its way back. I just received it today and everything looks great! The entire process took less than a week too. The glass has been replaced and the phone looks great and works as well. What attractted me to insureappleiphone is not only the price (best I’ve seen), but their techs are certified Apple as well. Anyway, I just wanted to post as I see a lot of folks posting negative comments and not willing to give them a chance based on their website design. All I can say is that my experience was completely positive and I highly recommend them for coverage. I guess don’t judge a book by the cover might apply here :)

Once again, a newbie with a single post is praising a company which looks like nothing more than a scam. Virtually every positive post is from a newbie with a single post or a couple posts, and all praising the site. This totally lacks credibility.

Yes, I'm a newbie. I do not even own a Mac! Only an iphone. I ran across this thread when I googled insureappleiphone.com. HONESTLY, I'm only trying to help! My experience was positive, thus why joined and posted today. Again, just trying to help others, if you want to pay more, go for it. If you want to email me privately, you can. I generally do not post reviews, but I saw all the negative comments and only felt it was fair to voice my experience with the company. I can honestly say, it's not a scam, that's all.

Message From The Company

Hello All

My name is Michael Jacobs. I am one of the executive managers for Insure Apple iPhone. I have had the pleasure of reading this post and thought it would be fair to answer some of the questions and reply to some of the inaccurate information that has circulated.

First and foremost, we are a legitimate company. There have been many things posted throughout this forum that are nothing more than the opinion of some, information that has only partial truth and some information that is true. Like every business in the world people are going to have their opinions about that specific establishment, good or bad. Unfortunately, when people voice their opinions based on nothing more than feeling and not actual experience, you create confusion, which is what we have here.

Insure Apple iPhone is a registered business under The Bernstein Firm LLC, a Florida company. The domain, insureappleiphone.com is owned and operated by this Florida Limited Liability Company. The domain was purchased in 2009 (and registered for 3 years, not 1 as someone has pointed out). Prior to our internet presence with insureappleiphone.com, we were a brick and mortar iPhone repair company listed under a different business name. We have been in the iPhone business since 2008, shortly after the first iPhone was introduced. In 2009 The Bernstein Firm LLC purchased the iPhone repair company and moved it to the internet. This was the beginning of Insure Apple iPhone (at least the name).

Today we are still owned and operated by the same company. Our outlook is simple; provide all iPhone owners a comprehensive and affordable solution for their coverage needs. Our low monthly price of just $5.99 is not only the most affordable there is, we provide more coverage than anyone else, hands down. Why can we afford to offer this at such a low price when others are charging $11.99 or even $15.99? Simple. VOLUME! An offer that many people can afford drives volume which in turn drives our costs down. This also enables us to provide exceptional service. (or what some people in this forum have called "too good to be true") We will take that as a compliment.

I would now like to address some comments made and put some fact behind them.

1) Our text logo is shady
I don't believe we have ever had a text logo, but if you did see a text logo it was an obvious IT problem that has been fixed. Our logo was created before we purchased the domain.

2)Our site is shady and a scam
You can view the site yourself at www.insureappleiphone.com and make your own judgment. This is only an opinion.

3)Your forms post to email and you are stealing identities.
This is a statement made by someone who is not familiar with PCI compliance and internet regulations. Our forms are all hosted by a third party and are secure. Once you provide us your information, your credit card information is used by our merchant service provider (who wouldn't allow us a merchant account if our forms were not secure) and the rest of your information is securely sent to an email account where the information to set up your account is pulled from. We do not store any credit card information and have no access to it.

4)Your payments are not secure.
I addressed this partially in the previous answer, but once again a thoughtless comment. We offer two payment options: credit card and Pay Pal. Two of the most secure payment options in the world. I am not aware of any safer options, but I am always up for suggestions.

5)Your employees are writing the only positive information about you.
Not only are our employees not allowed to comment good or bad about our company, it is considered a terminable offense if any employee solicits any information or opinions about us in the internet. I am quite sure that there are not too many people that want to lose their job for praising the company they work for. We have this rule so things like this do not happen.

6)I called but was on hold and told to leave a message because of high call volume.
On behalf of our company I would like to say sorry for considering your time valuable and offering to call you back in the order in which you called so you don't have to wait on hold. At times we do get busy and there may be a longer hold time that what our standard is. This option is only there to save you time. We are here all day, if you would rather wait on hold for an extended period of time you have that option as well.

These are only a few comments that I came across that provided half truth or not truth at all.

I hope that I have clarified some information and gave you a little insight into Insure Apple iPhone. I understand I did not address everything listed here as it would take a very long time, but you may contact me anytime via email at:
michael.jacobs@insureappleiphone.com or you may call me at 1-877-814-4469 extension 7120.

Thank you

It's interesting to compare your website to other more established companies. For example, the home page for OWC computing has direct links to Verisign, the BBB, McAfee Secure, Cnet store rating, or others. The homepage for Newegg, references Verisign, the BBB, and TrustWave. Where is yours?

So employees are not allowed to post on the internet about the company? Are you not an employee of the company?

Do you have a reference from the BBB? (granted this is not what it used to be but it's better than nothing). How about Verisign for site security?

The site is very secretive and references nothing that would lead a person familiar with shopping on the net to trust your company.

Hello Old Wiz,

Please allow me to address some of your concerns.

First, I am an employee of the company. I was given permission to comment in this forum in order to try and clarify the misleading opinions about our company. You will notice that I did not comment on anything in a positive or negative way, I simply tried to state the facts.

The different companies that you have named offer services that many other companies offer as well. Though not all are as well known as the companies you have mentioned, it does not mean that the service they provide is any better or worse. We have chosen to utilize the services of other companies and not place their logos all over our site. This may not be what other companies have chosen to do, but as an organization we have.

http://www.bbb.org/central-florida/...insure-apple-iphone-in-lake-mary-fl-135902545

You will notice that our BBB link is above. As you can see we are in an update status. Again, some companies choose to display their logo and some do not. We have decided not to. While the BBB is a great consumer outreach, it is also very easy to qualify as long as you pay the required fee. They are a business just like us. Our goal is to always make the right decision for the customer. This proactive service oriented process helps us eliminate the need for a third party intervention. In the rare case that we would, we have an arbitration option for our customers. We have never gotten to that point in nearly 3 years, and do not plan to.

I understand and respect your point of view and appreciate your feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve the customer shopping experience. I kindly ask that you respect our point of view and how we have chosen to conduct business. We run a legitimate business providing many people a great service. If you would like to discuss things in more detail, I would be glad to speak with you at anytime. My contact information is listed in my previous post.

Thank you,

Michael Jacobs

One thing you said to which I can respond is about the credit card form. They are NOT secure! I am a web developer, and I know to be secure you must use encryption. The form is on an http page, not an https page. Without using encryption, any credit card information is being posted in clear text and can be intercepted easily. In order to get an encrypted page, a legitimate registrar, such as Verisign (there are many others), must check your references, such as Dun & Bradstreet). As a consumer, I'm smart enough never to put my credit card information on an unencrypted page.

If your company is not intelligent enough to know this (this is fundamental ecommerce knowledge), then you're not intelligent enough to be a legitimate company. Getting authorized is easy, though it takes a bit of time. But every legitimate business on earth does it, because it's the ONLY safe way to make transactions on the web.

Your PayPal form is just as bad. You might use PP, but the form taking the information is insecure.

If you wish to be legitimate, you MUST take these steps. Otherwise, you will be rightfully considered a scam.

Safe as can be!

Yes, but only as of January 23, 2011 when you finally purchased a certificate. Don't make it seem like you had an encrypted site along because you didn't. While I could now tell people it'd be safe to send credit card information over the internet on your site, I'd still be hesitant since you didn't bother to do this properly prior to 4 days ago. It says a lot of about the competence of the company that you had to be told by someone on the internet that this had to be done. It makes me wonder, what else are they doing wrong? And, how honest are they, really? They tried to argue that they were safe earlier but once it was proven they weren't they come back acting like they've always been safe.

I have no axe to grind here. I started off on a legitimate search for someplace to insure my iPhone and stumbled across this discussion. There are enough red flags with this company that I can only say, caveat emptor!

I thought this thread might be helpful for when I switch to the Verizon IPhone, but it seems like random new people are joining to advertise all sorts of different sites. I don't know what is real and what is not lol. For my own peace of mind I would probably just go with Apple Care. It is legit and we know Apple won't screw you even though it is a little more expensive.

The trouble with them is they won't cover loss or theft, or damage caused by accident. Apple Care is only a warranty if it stops working due to defect. It's not insurance at all. As far as I'm concerned it's virtually worthless. Most phone problems will come due to accidental damage, loss, or theft. Insurance is needed, but finding a legit company that's reasonable seems to be quite the challenge.

Yes, you are correct. Up until a few days ago ONLY the forms were secure. Now every page of the site is secure. There has never been any issue with security with our forms. They have been secure since day 1. We have went a step further to make the entire site secure for you the customer.

I am sorry you have bad feelings about our company, mostly based on opinion not fact.

I hope this helps.

Now you've moved from being potentially ignorant to out and out lying. As I outlined above in my original post, your forms were NOT secure (there was no https page for the forms at that time, which by definition means that all information, including credit card info, was being sent over the internet in clear text which could be intercepted easily). While the information now is encrypted, the fact that you continue to blatantly LIE about this shows that your company cannot be trusted. If you'd come out and admitted that you'd erred in your original post and acknowledged the FACT that the forms were not secure, you might be forgiven. But your continued insistence that they were secure at the time is now obviously a LIE. There's no other interpretation. You're a liar, Mr. Jacobs, period.
