Anyone Use iPhone Data Instead of Cable Internet?

I friend of mine said that his unlimited data plan on his iPhone was good enough that he can use it as a hotspot for his computer, iPad, and streaming to Apple Tv. He's gotten rid of his home internet service.

Anyone else do this? Should it work?

I don‘t see any reason why it should not work ?

Many countries in the world use cellular networks for home internet.

I tether all the time when I am in hotel rooms.
