Has anyone used the Send Later feature on Mac Mail? You would very likely know, if you did, since the email you send doing that completely vanishes. :( Always a uniquely bad feeling to spend significant time writing an email for work, editing it, etc. then to have it completely disappear.

I have done this at least twice now. (For comparison I do it many times in Gmail with no problems.) Each time I did it via the Mail app on my laptop, it prompts “Send tomorrow at 8:00 AM” and a couple other options. Then when I select one and click send, the email is gone forever! Not in Drafts, not in Outbox, not anywhere! And when I check later the next day, same thing. Nowhere in Sent Messages, etc.

Help!

[EDIT: solved, sort of, at least I found the Send Later folder]

I’m using Mail 16.0, MacOS 14.6.1 Sonoma.

I just tried it here & the scheduled email appears in a Mailbox 'Send Later' at the end of 'Favorites' in Mail sidebar.

That's with Mail 16.0 on Sonoma 14.6.1

Oh thank you, that really helped! The “favorites” was right there at the top left of my Mail sidebar as you indicated. It was collapsed and has been for so long that I never even noticed it was there! My eyes were just used to looking at the Inbox part below there.

So, thanks to your post I found 3 different “Send Later” emails that I had thought were lost to oblivion. To send them I had to click “cancel send later” for each. Which is strange because in each case, I checked the date, to make sure for example I hadn’t set it to one year in the future, or months, etc. And I hadn’t, so I’m not sure why they were never sent — each one should have been send a few days ago.

Oh well, it’s good to have found them! Thank you😅

Perhaps I need to update MacOS, I thought it was on AutoUpdate already…

Whilst testing this morning, I returned to edit an 8:20 one, close to or at 8:20, & it never did get sent; there was no warning of that.
