seems pretty good value, $20 with magsafe and a caudabe sheath competitor

going to try the clear one out!

I've had them for other iPhone models. They're good, not great. Quality not as good a caudabe...some rough and sharp edges here and there, but they get the job done.

the clear ones will yellow on you pretty quickly, but smartish will replace it as many times as needed.

Tganks

So you’d recommend just splurging for the sheath even being quite a bit more?

If getting the black color

The clear it still looks like one of the best , yellowing aside

Is the side grip nice? Bulky , heavy or thin and light?

The grip is nice, but bulky if that makes sense.

Their MagSafe magnets are just like a strip of magnetic paper that stick in the slot, whereas the Sheath has actual magnets imbedded in the case.

The Sheath also has a drop test rating of 6.6 feet, whereas Smartish doesn't disclose.

last time I looked, the sheath is only $15-16 more than smartish, and you should be able to find a 10% coupon code. or wait til Black Friday when they usually have 20% off.

you can't go wrong with either one. the smartish is fine. the sheath is great.

I appreciate the input on the magnets on the Gripmunk, I suppose that is a bit of a deal breaker.

Sheath would be a nice complement to the Apple Silicone Case then, I think.

Yeah I had all 3 for my 13 mini. Sticking with just the sheath for now on my 14 pro but will wait for the official apple silicon cases to make their way to eBay for 50% off

how does Sheath Magsafe compare to something like Apple Silicone Case?

Particularly, with the textured surface and magnet strength.

I haven't done a scientific experiment but it feels like the sheath's magnets are stronger than apples. I think they make that declaration on their site. I've got an apple wallet attached to mine now and it doesn't seem like it's gonna fly off.

I will say that I've never had an apple silicon case stay intact for more than a couple months. they always start peeling...which is why I would find them for $20 on eBay (probably stolen).

What’s your use case you throw the phone in a bag or purse or just your pocket ? Skinny jeans or regular ?

I realize these are personal questions lol but I’m wondering if it is avoidable w casual use

Shining and such is inevitable but

I'm a late 30s dude so no purse or skinny jeans for me. usually regular jeans, khaki shorts, or gym shorts. or the occasional pair of slacks.

Interesting ! I guess I haven’t daily driver’d a silicone case for months to be honest it’s usually on a rotation

My dark blue silicone I got with my 12 pro in the rotation for at least a month or two shined but didn’t fall apart or crumble at the lip

nor my se2020 ive put through the paces with the silicone battery pack case and a white case on rotation sometimes too.

I’ve seen others get crumbled lips in like weeks. But with a purse and other elements involved
