I used to be somewhat of a watch collector and would like to wear different watches depending on what I was doing. That all changed with the Apple Watch and its been the only watch I wear every day since the Series 2 when I first bought one. Lately though, I've become a little disillusioned with it as its just so common now and every single person seemingly has one. I feel like we are losing somewhat of our individuality when we all have the same thing on. I'm not downing the Apple Watch in any way, in fact I love it. And honestly its become so integrated into my daily workouts that I'd honestly be lost without it.

With that being said, I've thought about going back to traditional watches as every day wear. Every where I turn everyone has an Apple Watch on and I personally feel like we are getting too similar in everything that we have now. Same watch, same phone, same headphones. I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing but its something that sometimes bugs me.

With all of that being said, does anyone just wear the Apple Watch for workouts? I really think I'm going to start doing this and just wear something a little different during the day. Just curious.

I don't really relate to the concept of material things I own reflecting on my individuality. To me, individuality is what you are on the inside. So I really couldn't care less if others see I have the same type of watch or phone as they do. But for me, my exercise comes mostly from walking throughout the day (usually around 7-8 miles total) rather than specific set-aside workout times, so I have to have my AW on all day.

I disagree. There are plenty of ways to personalize the Apple Watch to express your individuality though the case material of the watch, watch bands, and even watch faces.

I alternate between a stark white ceramic Apple Watch and a space black stainless steel Apple Watch with link bracelet and they both look nothing like the regular aluminum watches most people wear. Similarly, wearing a different watch band besides the sport band and sport loop such as the California poppy leather link makes my watch stand out a lot.

I sorta feel you, though not so much because other people (many other people) have the AW. I just miss my mechanical watches and in fact have recently found myself wanting to buy additional mechanicals even though I wear my AW every single day. So I've been thinking about doing what you suggest, wearing the AW for workouts only. I've also thought about doubling up...mechanical on the left which is where I check the time, AW on my right.

I went back and forth on this. The two things keeping me away from smartwatches in general now are battery life and putting digital devices away. I love not worrying about the battery but the constantly being connected drains me.

I have the Apple Watch SE sind last year. I started using it and I like it for sports and the convenience in the Apple Eco-System. But with the time I got more and more annoyed as a daily driver because of the following points:

- "Closing Rings" - Yes it is a nice feature to get motivated but in the end I was striving just for closing rings instead of striving what's best for my body. (no restdays, etc.)
- Battery life - It is ok for what it is, but sometimes I forget to charge in the morning and then I could not use ist
- Notifications - I know I can turn off most of the notifications. But with every vibration I was getting distracted from my focus and I got the urge to look at my watch.
- Maintenance - One device more for maintenance: Getting updates, apps not working properly, many settings, etc. all in all I had to take care of for another device.
- Style - I like the style of a traditional watch more, because of it more reversed look.

So what am I doing?

As a daily driver I went back to my traditional automatic watch.
But I use my Apple Watch for Sports (Walking, Running, Rowing) because of the good implantation in the Apple Eco-System (Fitness + for example).
