just simply pressing on the middle scroll button ony our mouse should work.
most if not all have that function. the scroller/scrollwheel between the left & right click buttons should work. has on all mine.

Thanks, but the Logitech Marble Mouse does not have a scroll wheel and I am still trying to figure out how to make the scroll feature work as advertised.

I have been using the Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel for a few months now and love it. I do a lot of Wordcrunching and it is excellent and still on its first battery.

It is excellent for everything except gaming and I use a Razer Pro for that. :)

agree - best pointing device ever made

Love the old classic Kensington Expert track ball. Use it every day. The newer verion, wich I frankly don't like, may be out of your price range. Look for the old standby all white, 4 button corded version. You can use cue balls to replace the one that comes with it, and even though it's not a laser trackball it's accurate, lasts forever and is easy to clean.

These old kensingtons (90s) are better than the new ones - on ebay for 50-70 bucks.

Nice companion to the ibm model M http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_M_Keyboard

Don't make stuff like that any more.

I've been a big fan of trackballs since my boss had me using one at work 17 years ago. And I've been a bigger fan since I've found ways to use them to avoid carpal tunnel and other hand/wrist/arm problems. Right now I've got the Kensington Expert trackball--and have to say I prefer earlier versions. This one is larger than I like, more costly, and the angle is awkward. Also, the left click seems stiff to me. It works well, though, although the scroll wheel could use a little fine-tuning and smoothing. Previously, used the Logitech Marble trackball and loved it. It got a lot of use, though, and finally lost its accuracy. Overall, I much prefer trackballs to mice and find them (for me) more accurate.

A note: when my right hand starts to bother me (sore thumb joint from stiff clicking, or forearm aches), I shift the trackball over to my left hand. Takes a few days to settle in with that pattern, but then I'm good to go for as long as it takes.
