I dropped my Apple Watch Series 4 and shattered the back of it. Nearest Best Buy is much closer than the nearest Apple Store which is 100 miles away. Rather than mail it to Apple and chose to drop it off at Best Buy to speed up the repair process. WRONG!!!!! They've had my watch for 2 weeks and no word on when the repair would be completed. I'm glad I also have a Series 6.

How long does it typically take Best Buy to complete repairs on a watch?

I called Apple and they contacted Best Buy and was told the watch was sent away for repair.

fastest way to AppleCare is if you have a credit card with a little room

they'll put a hold on the card and ship a new one and a box to return the old
once you get the box, pack up and return the old one
when the receive the old one, they'll remove the hold on your card (if you take too long, they'll actually charge the card)

doing it that way, the new watch will show up in a couple days.

other wise they don't ship the new watch till the old one is there, so it's typically 7-10 days to get the new one.

when I broke my screen (it's been a couple years, so policies might have changed) they couldn't do anything about it in store, they said it was faster to call.

So finally after calling Best Buy numerous times and no one answering, I tried calling the moment they opened. Someone answered!! They could not find any record of my watch. He placed me on hold for 30 minutes and came back to say he located my watch. He said it was sent to Apple and now is on the way back to Best Buy. I swear I will never ever ever ever use Best Buy again for Apple Care repair.

Glad you were finally able to get an answer. Sounds like BestBuy didn’t mail your watch off right away.

I'm not a big fan of allowing Best Buy to repair anything, let alone an Apple Watch. However, I had a moment of ?? and let them change the battery in my iPhone 7+. Surprisingly they did the battery change in 30 minutes and charged me the same as an Apple Store. Phone works great with the new battery.

But I'm not surprised that they were not able to repair the Apple Watch and had to send it off to Apple.

Apple Watch has never been repairable. They replace it and scrap it for parts.

Whereas iPhones are repairable and Best Buy in particular has been an apple authorized repair vendor for a while now
