Anyone using a travel surge protector but NOT w/ power adapter?

Basically, I'd like to leave my power adapter at home rather than lug it around with me, that is unless I purchase a 2nd one.

But there are travel surge protectors that do have a USB port for charging your portable devices, but so far I've found a majority of them have their USB port capped at 5w.

So am I stuck or does such a beast exist?
