Should I pull it and just go with another brand? If so, what drive do you guys recommend?

Yes. The second-generation Sandforce chipset that drive uses is notoriously unreliable. Replace it with a Samsung 840 (Evo or Pro) or Crucial M500.

I upgraded my older MBP with an SSD and replaced the optical drive with the original HDD for extra storage, it made the world of difference. It is something I would definitely do, it'll be a whole different experience!
