Has anyone used CleanMyMac for cleaning photos. I am scared to death to do this to one of my libraries?

Try snapselect from Macphun. It gives you more control over what you get rid of by the looks of your screen shot.

    Hello!

The iPhoto Cleanup module searches your iPhoto library for invisible versions of files that were automatically or manually modified. For instance, if you imported a photo from your camera and then rotated and cropped it, iPhoto will keep an unrotated, uncropped copy of it as a backup. You can remove these unnecessary copies to significantly decrease the size of your iPhoto library!
In addition, you can click on the "Detailed Results" button in order to see what exactly CleanMyMac 2 has selected automatically during the scan.

Still have any questions regarding iPhoto cleanup module? Feel free to write us on: support@macpaw.com

    Regards,
    MacPaw Support Team.

These days storage is cheap and 9 GB (for example) is an insignificant gain. Keep it in perspective...for many that's just one SD card of photos. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Most people are much further ahead to simply review their library occasionally and delete shots that are of no further value to them. It's a great rainy day project.

Man...I am going to need a LOT of rainy days. Organizing my photos, editing my aerial videos, learning how to shoot video with my D5200 (probably looking for a new wife because of devoting all that time to other things).

You've almost got your priorities in order CharlieBrandt09. I would defer the search for a new wife though. :D
