Dear I'm looking for feedback from new FCP smooth slo-mo AI feature.

Have you tried? How does it work in your opinion?

Thansks a lot.

Maybe check this out:

Spoiler… it's amazing.

BTW: It's not AI. It's ML. 😉
Thank you so much. I saw the video before asking.

So are you using it and it's amazing in your opinion? Technically speaking how much improvement going from an M1 Max studio to an M2 Max?

I tried it with a 4k drone clip and transcoding and analysis take time, and so rendering it... (10sec clip). Also going to an M2 Max I can use slo-mo ML feature with my 8k@30p clip...

:)

You tell me. You saw the various examples… no? You have it yourself… no? Then I don't really understand the question. Not everyone has the same definition of "amazing".

And as I say in the video, the results depend on a multitude of criteria and variables. The subject matter, amount of speed reduction, etc. It won't always be amazing. It may never be amazing… for you… since there is no one answer and the quality of the results is almost entirely subjective.

You may or may not see a difference in speed, sure. But we're talking seconds, not minutes. So I don't really understand that question either. And since it all happens in the background anyway, who really cares? Are those few seconds worth a multi-thousand dollar investment to you? Then go for it. No one else can answer that question but you.

And if you need it for >4K then you have to have at least an M2, yes. Or you simply transcode whatever it is to 4K first. So again… I don't understand the point behind the question(s) since you already seem to have as much information as you need, by virtue of the video alone.

I used it with my 4K drone footage on two random clip I have chosen in my library.

I thought you have the experience to tell how it work based on a large amount of clips you have worked on than me.

Can you tell the best way to go from 8k@30fps to 4k@30fps? Do I have to create a 4k project in fcp than export the clip and then import again? Is it right or am I wrong? So I have to apply stabilization first etc and than export? Thanks a lot for any help.

Again, even if I had tried 1000 clips and found it to be amazing and perfect, that still doesn't mean that it works as you'd like with your clip(s). It's a case by case matter.

And again, seeing that you are able to test yourself, I don't really understand the question to begin with. I had assumed that you were thinking of updating and wanted to know if it's any good before you do. But you already have it.

QuickTime Player? Compressor?

You can export any clip, even multiple clips directly from your event. No need for a project.

If you need stabilization then it's probably best to do that before resizing it, yes. 8K clip in a 4K timeline, stabilize, export.
