Only really just noticed this yesterday on my AW U2 and just wondered if I need to bother - I will probably have a new AW in 2 years or so and wondering if the benefit of having 100% battery life outweigh any (much) later issues with the battery which wont be even my issue as I would have sold it by then although I do wear my watch to bed for sleep tracking and coming from my AW7 the battery life whether from 80 or 100% is already 2 days for me....
Your thoughts ?

I have an original Ultra, now at 13 months, and I turned on optimized charging earlier this year. Max capacity is at 90% and 85% charge works for me with the Ultra and I just want to preserve capacity for the next 11-12 months until I'm ready to upgrade next year. (I charge when I shower and when I start washing up to bed just before I put my book down for the night, when I put the watch back on.)

Yes. I generally keep it set to 80% and so far so good. I can easily go two full days without needing to charge my Watch Ultra 2.

I've never left my AWU 1 charging overnight, and stick the charger on when I wake up. At some point this past year I noticed the optimized charging display, looked it up, and decided it makes sense to continue using it, as I'd like to conserve the expensive consumable, and I never need a full charge to get through a day (or two), even tracking workouts and listening to a couple hours of music from the watch with headphones.

I have my AWU2 set to optimized charge. Bought it 9/2023. Was at 100% health till the last update. Suddenly, it dropped to 94%. I will utilize the 80% for a little while longer but I'll soon be at the DGAF mark with the device and will probably then let it go to full charge. A 90-minute bike ride now drains it an extra 10-20% more than before so it may be losing the benefits of its youth.

With the AW Series 9, I turned off the optimized charging limit because 80% would frequently not get me through an average day. With the AWU2, I have left it on and am still at 100% battery health. I also tend to charge overnight.

The larger battery capacity of the Ultra means that I don't have to worry about it dying before the end of the day, but I do need to remember to tell it to charge to full if I know I am going to be utilizing it heavily (extended workout tracking, etc).
