I'm using Tap Forms as a replacement for Bento and I love the way it works except I'm struggling with it's iCloud Sync.

I have imported data to new forms from Bento to Tap forms on my MBP and tried to sync to my iMac but nothing is going across. Tried also the other way from Mac to MBP and still no go. Sync to iCloud is activated and the app says it is syncing but after it completes there are no changes.

Has anyone come across this and found a solution?

I use Tap Forms for basic personal databases. Very handy but I often have to reset syncing to get it to sync across all my devices. Works, just inconvenient.

Thank you Easttime.

I have been working on this one since Friday and after resetting several times, it has now synced. Part of my issue is there size of the database. It's very heavy at 3.2Gb. Running very slowly through my iMac but smooth as butter on the MBP.

I must say that despite the issues (and the fact I'm asking it to do more than it was designed for) I love this as a replacement for Bento.

Ideally I'd be using a full blown dBase, but as a private user, the cost of something like Filemaker is simply ridiculous. Tap Forms is sensibly priced for those of us 'hobbyists' and based on my experience I'd say it's an excellent app for those who are looking to replace Bento.

That was my conclusion too, similar history. I've used databases for both enterprise and personal use since the Palm. This was the best for personal use when I went shopping after converting to Apple. Hope they get the sync thing more solid.

They are working on it, but it's not clear they will continue to use iCloud. That for me is an issue, since I've spent some time moving all my cloud storage to iCloud over recent months. I no longer use Dropbox or any other Cloud storage than iCloud. I've no real wish to begin putting some files on one server and others on something completely different.
