Anyone with a new iMac & 512 GB SSD?

Hi

I'm wondering if anyone else has ordered the new iMac with the 512 GB SSD option - I'm wondering how much free space the hard drive should show, out of the box?

it gives you 499gb max availability. i think only 30gb or so is for OSX, can't remember so you would be down to about 470gb out of box.

out of the box mine showed 478gb free.

i wiped the SSD - and reinstalled El Cap fresh and then it showed 488gb free. Out of the box it had all kind of extra stuff on it i didn't want like iWork etc etc...

Waste of time doing a fresh install, if you did not want the iWork apps all you needed to do was uninstall them. You took a 3 minute process and turned it into a 30-40 minute workout.
