Hello,

I’m using Citrix Receiver on my iPad Pro for business and so far i only tested a bluetooth mouse. It works but it is quite limited (no right-click for instance) so I was wondering if instead of purchasing a regular bluetooth mouse to use with my iPad i should buy a Citrix X1 mouse. I understand it can be used as a regular mouse on iPadOS 13 and, when in Citrix receiver, it will behave as a Citrix mouse, so with all mouse features you would expect.

Any experiences on this? Thanks

I've used a Citrix mouse in the past, but not with iPadOS.

I can answer now to myself, for future reference for other users. I now own a Citrix X1 mouse.

It works normally within iPadOS 13, just as any other bluetooth mouse. If you run citrix receiver then it won’t work back with iPadOS (“out of Citrix”) until you turn off/on bluetooth (at least that was my case). Its use on citrix receiver is very neat, I use it for my company account (mail, network drives, etc) and it is the very same as using any table computer.

If you use Jump Desktop it works flawlessly with it and then back to iPadOS. I’d do encourage everyone to try it with Jump Desktop. In my case i wondered sometimes to get a laptop to be able to do some ”serious” work at the couch or at the garden... but it is not needed at all with this combo. The iPad works GREAT with Citrix mouse and Jump Desktop connected to my iMac, just as if you were using a macbook whatever.

Thanks for that. I was looking at the X1 mouse, but wasn’t sure how iPadOS 13 changed things. Most of the things I read about it only discussed iOS 12 or earlier.

Do you have a 12.9”, or 11”?

Just wondering if anybody else is using Citrix Workspace with iPadOS 13.4?

I thought native cursor support would improve things, but my Citrix X1 mouse seems to be much worse. No right click and the left click is “buggy”.

Is it just me or is there a setting I need to change?

It sounds like Citrix needs to update their mouse driver and app.

However, more importantly, Citrix needs to update their app to support other mice now that 13.4 is out. That will render their X1 mouse superfluous, but it will make their app much more functional for everyone else.

Right now, Citrix on iPadOS is pretty much useless for me, and 13.4 hasn't changed that. Even with an iPadOS 13.4 support Magic Mouse 2, Citrix is still pretty much useless, because the app doesn't properly support it.
