I ordered an iPhone 12 mini and 12 pro max through IUP at 7:02 and 7:03 AM CST last Friday. They both quickly changed to preparing to ship. The Pro Max has hopped between that and Processing for a few days.

Yesterday it changed from Delivers Fri Nov 13 to Arrives in 5-7 Business Days. Apple chat is saying they can no longer guarantee Friday delivery but there’s nothing wrong with the order itself.

Anyone else have this happen?

Keep an eye on it & refresh your email. Mine went from processing to waiting for payment. Used Apple Pay w/ debit card but never received a fraud notice or any idea of any issues. Checked email & manually entered debit card with the link they provided.

I dont think Apple updates w/tracking. Mine says “preparing to ship”, but if I login to my UPS My choice account it shows a tracking and that it shipped on 11/8.

Not sure about the waiting for payment.
 
Keep an eye on it & refresh your email. Mine went from processing to waiting for payment. Used Apple Pay w/ debit card but never received a fraud notice or any idea of any issues. Checked email & manually entered debit card with the link they provided.
So my charge for the taxes are still pending on my Apple Card since Friday. Apple chat says they don’t charge until it ships. My charge for 12 Mini that did ship settled out. So I don’t think it’s a payment issue yet. Let’s see.

Yes, correct. My 12 Mini says preparing to Ship but is already in Kentucky according to UPS Mu Choice. Just no tracking info for the pro max yet.
 
I did pre order for pick up Friday at 8 am. Used apple card to pay taxes. I'm under apple UP. Monday received the tax charge from apple. I expect tomorrow Thursday we shall be getting more notifications.
 
So store pickup orders do continue to show processing, confirmed with friends as well.

Mine is a delivery order. Apple chat said there are inventory constraints so most likely have to wait until next week to get it ☹️
 
The status in the order doesn't change from Preparing to Ship to Shipped until the phones clear customs in Louisville. Everyone will be in Preparing to Ship until later today or tomorrow, regardless of whether you're picking up in store or shipping to your home.

Is that something they changed recently? With previous iPhone orders I would get tracking all the way from the factory in Shenzhen. That may have been when they were using FedEx instead of UPS.

You can still do that if you have a UPS MyChoice account. Many of us have been tracking our phones from the initial origin scan in China - check out the pinned apple.com order thread...I think we're close to 700 pages at this point.

I have a UPS MyChoice account but it does not have anything going to my address yet. Maybe MyChoice didn't match the package correctly. Regardless, I'm confident I'll get mine on time Friday.

EDIT: Turned out I forgot to update the apartment number in UPS MyChoice when I moved from one apartment to another in the same building. I can now see my shipment originated at the factory in ZhengZhou, hopped over to Hong Kong for a flight to Anchorage, short layover in Anchorage, then hopped over to a flight to Louisville yesterday. It is most likely waiting to be released from customs in Louisville (as SisterBlue22 said) for the next scan.

I ordered on the website my using a veteran's discount. When click the email link to check status it shows the as Preparing to Ship. At the top of the page in a smallish font it says Veterans and Military Store Home.

I'm thinking that they know veterans and military folks are experts at waiting, so they will ship it when they get around to it! 😂

ETA: I ordered it @7:30 eastern time Friday.
 
I ordered a Pro Max blue and Mini red right for U.S. delivery at the start of ordering. Both indicated Preparing to Ship for several days, with a delivery date of the 13th. Then, suddeningly the Pro Max started the shipping process last Sunday, while the Mini changed back to order processing, with a new delivery date of Nov. 24 - 27. The Pro Max is now inbound from Alaska, while the Mini is still in processing.

Looks like the opposite happened to me. Mini shipped and is in KY and Pro Max switched to “Arrives in 5-7 business days”
 
Have two Pro max orders (both 512 golds), one completed 5:01am PDT and the other at 5:02am PDT on Nov 6 via Apple store online. Both confirmation emails said delivery by nov 13. Both were showing “Preparing to ship” up until yesterday morning when the 5:02 am (later) order regressed backward to “Processing” and delivery date went from Nov 13 to “Arrives 5-7 business days”. UPS Choice has a tracking number and status for the “Preparing for ship” order, but nothing for the still processing one. Calls to Apple support has indicated that they allege they must have run out of allocated units and it will be in the next batch produced. I’m kinda pissed as it was “preparing for shipping” and was given confirmation of a nov 13 delivery, but then rescinded without reason and pushed to 5-7 business days. Meanwhile I’m reading on the forums that the delivery times didn’t start slipping until nearly the end of the day on Nov 6th and there will allegedly be plenty of walk-in stock at most Apple stores, even though I completed my pre-order at 5:02am. :mad:

Yup, same thing for me. I knew I should’ve done express pickup :mad:
 
My pacific blue max was "preparing to ship" last night.
This morning I get:
