Anyone's Mail App no longer working? (Gmail)

My Mail App has not been working for a week now. I have my .edu email address being forwarded to a gmail account. That gmail is then set up on my iPhone. It has worked fine for many months, until a week ago.

It not pops up with the message:

Cannot Get Mail
The connection to the server "imap.gmail.com" failed.

Any ideas? Thanks ahead of time!

I have tried both in wifi and without, and I def. haven't been in a dead zone for a week straight....😕😕🙁🙁

Try removing the account from the iPhone and then putting it back on?

Mine works and I also have gmail
