I've been messing with mbp settings and its on stock again. but no harm can be down from messing with the calibrator in system preferences, right?

Are mbp good to go out of the box, or is there an ideal calibration?

They look pretty good out of the box, generally. I think it has more to do with personal preference...

I calibrated mine using a Spyder2. I only did it because I am a web design student and wanted a more 'neutral' calibration setting (so the sites I design don't look awful on PCs).

You can always switch back to the default calibration so no harm can come off it.

In my experience once you get the 'good' calibration you will be wondering how the hell you were able to use the standard in the first place.

Here is the penultimate color profile thread for MBP's which you can try. Enjoy! 🙂
