Is there anyway to group text on the iphone5? My 3 kids don't all have iphones and if I want to text all of them at the same time I have to manually click on each ones contact number. Isn't there a way to set up a group contact that will text several people at once?
Thanks and I'm sorry ahead of time if this is a bone head question.

Not on a stock iPhone as far as i'm aware.

Now a jail broken one is a completely different animal.

A tweak called 'groupsend' is one example.

The iphone does group texting fine.
Go to settings/messages/ group messaging ON.
Then when you go to create a new text just keep hitting the blue plus sign on the top right to add more contacts to receive the text message.

I assume then there's no way to set up just one "Group" contact name that would text multiple people instead? It would be nice to be able to set up multiple groups such as "Friends", "Work" or "family" instead of having to hit the blue plus several times.

Thanks

Once you setup that group and send them one text message then all you have to do is go into that conversation and send another message to the same people just by typing it and clicking send.
It will go to the same people again and it should be easy and simple.
If you want to setup other groups you can create a conversation and whenever you need to send again you just go in to that same conversation and send again.
