Anyway to temporarily kill the Dock?

I'd like to restore the Dock from CoreServices when I first installed Leopard. When I click restore it doesn't let me restore it because the Dock is now in use.

That only kills the dock for like 2 seconds. Not enough time to replace it.

Delete the file : youraccount/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
