Anyway to unlock a file?

Hi, one of my professors sent out a pdf that we have to read. I would like to load it on my mobile device, but there are lots of unnecessary pages in the start that I would like to get rid of. Thing is, it's locked and I can delete pages in preview, but can't save the document after doing so. Does anyone know if there's a way to get around this?

Right-click, Get Info, uncheck 'Locked' should work.
