So I currently got the series 6 graphite (wish they had a graphite link 😖) and am coming from a series 4.

So when I get a Notification my watches vibrates or chimes but when I raise my wrist it doesn’t show. Just shows the red dot signaling i have a notification. If I click the crown it will drop down briefly then go back up. If I tap the screen it goes to whatever complication I click. I have to slide down to show notifications .

Kinda miss the raise to see notification... is this a bug? Has anyone else noticed this. Really getting annoying

Nothing is turned off notification wise, conversation not muted. I’m kinda unsure what to do

there are a couple settings in notifications that control that, you can find them either in settings app on the watch, or in the watch app on the phone.

if they are set correctly, try turning the off and back on again.

you can also try rebooting your watch

It sounds like when you’re raising your wrist it’s not actually turning on the watch. Obviously with the AOD this can be less noticeable than when your old watch that would just have a black display when it wasn’t turned on.

I think to further complicate things, WatchOS7 introduced a feature that works in conjunction with the AOD where if you touch a complication or pushed the crown it will turn on the watch and then perform that action. Before WatchOS7 if you tapped the display or pushed the crown when the watch was off it would just turn the watch on and then you would have to touch it again to get whatever action you wanted. But I think in this case it’s turning on your watch and then clearing your notification.

Try to make sure that the display is brightening to indicate that the watch is, in fact, turning on when you raise your wrist and your notification should be displayed. Alternately you can tap the display in an area where there isn’t a complication to turn the watch on and display your notification, but obviously that’s easier on some faces than others as some faces have complications covering most of the face.

I’m a Effing moron guys. My raise wrist was turned off somehow. Sorry for the crappy post lol. Thanks guys

So if I have the AOD and a notification arrives it will not show up unless I turn my wrist? Is there a way to enable this?

no,

unless you give the watch a reason to think you're actually looking at it, it won't show anything.

it will vibrate, and possibly ding if you have that enabled

If you don't want to raise your wrist, you can also tap the display, or spin the crown

I'd say you can click the crown, or the button, but looks like those are currently broken. as the notification slides up, but you can still see the watch face though it, and then it goes away almost instantly
maybe they'll fix them soon.

Thanks. Yeah I was experiencing that notification dismissal bug. I don’t get why they don’t provide the option to see the notification. Maybe there is a jailbreak tweak to it
