I know we have to wait until the official announcment of the new iPhone 13 line to know for sure, but are there any credible rumors saying if the new phones will have AoD ( Always on Display )?

Promotion AND always on display? In the same year? This is Apple we’re talking about lol

“Expect a faster A15 chip, smaller notch, a new display for better battery life and the potential of an Apple Watch-like always on mode and a 120Hz refresh rate and upgrades to video recording.”

I can appreciate that in an Apple Watch but I don’t think I need that on my phone.

I'd agree here. I was hoping for years that AOD would come to iPhone, but I'm actually fine without it. I do enjoy AOD on my AW, but it certainly isn't a feature I absolutely need when most notifications are pushed to my watch now.

It’s been rumored that it’s happening this year, no one knows for sure though.

If it does happen, it’ll be only on the pro models, since it’ll have a adaptive refresh rate screen.
There is no reason to limit AOD for pro models. Android has had this for years without a variable refresh screen.

No matter the rumour I will only believe it when I see it!
Apple has well and truly played many of these “leaksters” in the past year, a lot of them landing up with egg on their face on a lot of the recent rumours.

Would be great though for those who want it.

if it does, i’m turning it off first thing..

I would have to see how the battery life is, I remember on my Galaxy S7 Edge and Note8 I kept AOD On for a while but ultimately turned it off, but on my Huawei phones AOD battery consumption was so insignificant that I left it on, currently have it on on my Mate 40 Pro.

If Apple do it I hope they are creative and ensure it is efficient and give the phones at the very least a battery the same size as iPhone 11 Pro Max battery.

I would certainly use it as it’s nice to look on your desk to see what notifications you have even with an Apple Watch as you aren’t always looking at it non stop throughout the day.

It's actually very handy as it shows notification icons etc

I get that part - however I’d still have to unlock FaceID to review any notifications - or have their previews permanently displayed without security on the Home Screen.
