APE Lite? (smartscroll)

Hi, so I'm interested in Smartscroll, but I'm a little nervous to install it. I wondered how they can allow momentum scrolling in all apps, so I looked at their website and found that they used something called "APE Lite." So I searched and its something by a company called Unsanity, and this APE thingy supposedly causes tons of problems, and is strongly discouraged to install (something called a haxie 😕) (But those are pretty old reviews) So what do you guys think? Is it safe to install Smartscroll? Thanks

I installed Smartscroll, and it really isn't that great. I'd save yourself the trouble.
