I am getting very frustrated with Aperture 2 as I have encountered several issues as below. Would be very grateful for any help or suggestions:

    1. Importing
    - When importing images from an external hard disc, Aperture can only read certain photos but not all...
=> However, all pictures show up fine in iPhoto. I have resolved to moving the photos to desktop first and then import to Aperture from there. But I should be able to import directly from external hard drives right?
    - Imported image takes a long time to load. The loading icon would stay on top of the photos and preview stays blurry long after the system says all image import has completed.
=> Is this normal or have I done something wrong?
    - Blurry thumbnails appear during image loading and disappears after loading is completed. Only frames with white dotted lines show up in both "Browser Only" and "Browser & Viewer" modes.
=> Activity pop-up window shows "Building Thumbnails" every time a photo is selected but no thumbnails ever show up...
    2. Adjustments
    - The Adjustments tab remains grayed out and says "Image Loading" on the top left corner so I am unable to make any adjustments...
=> The masters are connected as I save these photos on the desktop

I have tried reinstalling the application but it only made things worse... Even the photos in Sample Projects seem to freeze in the "loading" mode and no changes could be made to those either...

I am currently running the application on the latest and most high-end iMac, so I don't think it's a hardware issue... sigh...

Thanks in advance for any help & suggestions!

As a follow up, I finally solved all issues by simply updating from vr. 1.1.1 to the latest one...
hope this will help someone out there as well...
