Hi all,
Just installed the 3.01 trial on my 3.06GHz iMac w/6Gb RAM.
First test I imported 66 RAW images, around 14Mb each. This not only took forever but seemed to use oodles of RAM in the process - Aperture was eating up nearly 4Gb at one stage. Is this normal? I see the min specs state 2Gb, my brother in law has a 2Gb 2.4GHz iMac and it understandably crawls given this memory usage.
Once I've imported and start mucking about with images with a brush it seems OK, still a bit laggy though while it regenerates the thumbnail after each change (annoying) but I guess it's usable.
The forums are awash with people moaning, just wondering if this is normal or there's something I've done wrong. Faces is disabled already btw...
..it's a brand new library also, nothing from Aperture 2.
Thanks!
M
