Aperture won't open, help!

So I've been using Aperture for a while now and after the latest update I can't get it to open. It goes to open the library and then i get the wheel of death, then "application not responding" and i have to force quit. any suggestions? i hope i haven't lost my entire photo library!

You shouldn't have lost your library, but on the safe side do you have a backup of your images.

Also if you have a time machine backup, just restore aperture from the last time it ran before the update.

hold down command + option when you launch aperture

it will give you an option to repair library and also repair permissions, try selecting these to see if it fixes

there is a third option to rebuild library, not tried this so unsure exactly what it does
