and Windows 10 is really very stable

Apart from catastrophic updates such as the recent KB4524244 that MS eventually pulled after numerous reports of users getting BSOD's, boot failures and data loss of Desktop files?

And who can forget Windows 1809 - another major release that also came with the added feature of wiping out all the personal data, despite numerous beta bug reports stating this was happening?

But wait, there's more. The January 2018 updates that MS released in response to Spectre and Meltdown resulted in PCs with AMD chips now no longer able to reboot.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Previous hits have involved Sophos Endpoint protected PCS refusing to boot, or numerous times patches would constantly fail to install due to some archaic dependency...

Is OSX bug free? The hell it isn't. Are there issues with it? If course there are and Apple need to get serious and fix them.

That said, Windows 10 is not the pinnacle of excellence you seem to pretend it is. And anyone who's not wearing rose tinted glasses and who manages Windows 10 will be unhappily be able to attest to.

And now the fine folks at Bombich Software have in turn broken Apple's own Disk Utility app (revenge is an ugly thing): The latest version of CCC 5.1.18 breaks the "Show Only Volumes" view in Apple's Disk Utility. You used to be able to select different views in Disk Utility. Now only the “Show All Devices” view works. I have verified that it is indeed CCC that caused this. Immediately after installing it the ability to change views in Disk Utility quit working. And by the way, it permanently breaks that view option in Disk Utility. I tried fully uninstalling CCC and the issue remains even after the uninstall. 🤦‍♂️
I wonder if/when Bombich will fix what they broke in Disk Utility? This really messes with my OCD.

I can't even make a bootable clone with Disk Utility in HighSierra 10.13.6. I have tried several times but it ends always with an error "APFS inverter failed to invert the volume-Invalid argument" The operation cannot be completed. The operation failed.. (OSStatus failure 22). Someone else same problem?

As it turns out, this issue has made my life with Catalina far simpler. I just downgraded back to Mojave. I'll let others "progress".

I made this new account simply to say thanks for confirming I’m not actually going insane. For the first time in 13 years using various Macs I’m getting kernel panics several times a day. After blaming everything from Bluetooth to kexts, I stumbled across this thread and a section of the Apple forums stuffed with similar reports. Tempted to install the 10.15.6 beta in hope.
