I noticed today when I woke up that my iphone 3G's usage had increased by the amount of time that I had been asleep. When I went to bed I was at the home screen when I put it to sleep. Anybody know whats going on? Is there an app that is always running or something I'm missing here?

Maybe it's possible that the sleep function doesn't work on my phone, but every time it goes to sleep I have to do the usual unlock and what not. I haven't upgraded to 2.0.2 FWIW, I'll be doing it soon. Any ideas?

everyone once in a while I will notice this happening, for instance a couple days ago I got to work and looked at my phone and usage and standby were identical. Usually just powering off and back on corrects this for me.
