App Developers - realistically affordable

Just wondering if anyone here knows any realistically affordable, yet reliable app developers? Cannot understand why so many of them want to charge absolutely ridiculous prices when a sophisticated website is equally just has hard, if not harder yet very affordable.

Wondering if anyone here could help me see some.

Might want to be a bit more specific in your request while still keeping it general to protect your idea. Maybe whether or not it connects to a server, what hardware it uses (accelerometer, microphone, camera etc) and category (utility, game).
