:apple: Energy Saver Icon Changer :apple:

"Save energy" on your Mac! Get what the Unibody MB/P owners have!

I created a small automator application to change the Energy Saver icon in System Preferences to the new CCFL style light bulb icon. Backs up current PrefPane, changes the icon, and clears the system preferences cache to show new icon without reboot. This has only been tested on Mac OS X 10.5.6.

The folder, when extracted, must be placed on your desktop to work correctly.

Please leave feedback if it worked or not.
Thanks for downloading!

Not to go too far offtopic, but doesnt this show that the new macbooks ship with an altered version of leopard that isnt sold at retail? This would explain why video uses MUCH less CPU on the new macbooks.

Oh good lord

Having never extensively played with the new unibody's, I had not noticed this. I think it's kind of ridiculous that they changed that little detail, but hilarious at the same time. Good old Apple trying to look enviro-friendly...

Same build of OS X but different Quicktime frameworks and video driver extensions.

If it's the same build then doesn't that mean it has the same files? Just means different extensions are loaded depending on the hardware it's running on? Or is that what you mean? :)

Two questions:
Can we change it back if we hate it. (not that I think I will)
Can I delete the folder off my desktop after I am done?

And thank you. Very cool indeed.

1) I'll write a "restore" app for you.
2) Yes. But remember that your backup is in there, just so you know.

The files aren't the same. The new MCP79A hardware is already taking a different branch as shown by the updates.

I noticed the backup file it created. ;)
