Haha I can't believe there is an app for this. I changed mine a while ago, but kudos to metroid. 
I also changed my trackpad icon, maybe you could make one of those for Macbook owners.

Here is the icon that is actually already included with the system preferences (or at least for me). I included a zip file because MacRumors doesn't allow .icns files.
Also, can you please post your Automator process for this (either in text or screenshots please!)
As far as I know, this is the icon that everyone gets. I have a "Classic" MacBook Pro with the trackpad button, but I do not get an icon with one.
