Looking for a solution for automating cataloging a very large tape collection.

Here's the thought:
Be able to take still images (or perhaps a movie?) quickly of hundreds of tapes. (Maybe thousands - it's a pallet!)
Have some magic software grab and format all that text on the labels with no user prompting. Feed it the images or movie and say "go"!

Does this exist yet?
I know there are some pic to text apps. Might have an odd one installed even from a while back. But being able to do this quickly and 'magically' like I asked? Goes without saying that I'd have to at least lay everything on the floor to get a view. I'm not asking for x-ray vision here!

Thanks!

Too bad. I think you have a better chance of getting x-ray vision. Just imagine all the workflow elements you’d be juggling and all the variables and exceptions that would come into play. It would be very difficult to automate reliably.
