This might sound kind of odd, but I'm wondering if there exists and app, perhaps something like a timer, that will constrict you to one desktop/space for the duration of the time set. This would help me a ton with my work since I tend to use one desktop free from any clutter in order to focus on my studies, and another desktop for browsing/chatting/videos, etc.. So it would be great to have something to "force" me to stay in one place. It can be difficult since all I need is a swipe of the hand to switch!
Would anyone happen to know of an app that could do something like that?

Have you tried another user account with Mission Control limited to one Desktop/Space? You could user Fast User Switching to switch between users.

No.. how does that work? (I am new to mac).
Can you somehow set it to be time-based? What's to stop me from just switching users if it's fast?

Any app or method you come up with can easily be circumvented by you, since you're the one implementing it. Software is a poor substitute for good old-fashioned self control.
