While synced up to iTunes, under your phone/applications do you have it checked to install all applications? Also when you are reinstalling them, are you plugged into iTunes are doing it OTA?

yes i install ALL applications. and i have tried to install it with it plugged in and without using just the app store app on the iphone. Both ways make the icon disappear after the installation. I need some way to completly remove it from the iphone and get a fresh reinstall i believe. ?????

You wouldn't by any chance have a Jailbroken iPhone would you?

Okay, I had a similar issue when my phone was Jailbroken (thrown back in jail for another reason,).

Solution: Go to BossPrefs, hit "poof" at the bottom of the screen, and make sure the apps toggle switches are set to on.

Let me know how you get on with it.

I guess it would have been too much trouble to tell us that upfront?

Well .... yeh. Didn't really see the point of typing out the solution if the phone was not Jailbroken (therefore, didn't have BossPrefs installed).
